Northern Hills Cruise to Boondocks

A cool cruise through rarely-seen parts of the Northern Black Hills, ending at the legendary Boondocks.The cruise will wind west from Rapid City via Hwy 44 to Johnson Siding, then north along Norris Peak road to Nemo road, where we’ll head northwest through pristine meadows with rock cliffs and babbling streams. Upon reaching Hwy 385, we’ll head south to the famous Boondocks café/store/museum.

Boondocks has a great collection of memorabilia to view or purchase. This cruise has only one big climb as you leave Rapid City, then provides an easy, meandering drive through hills and meadows with no major heights or tunnels. It’s a great way to get off the beaten path and relax.
